ToneFactory Music: Thru The Walls

"ASCAP-Thru The Walls" (2007)

The ASCAP Foundation (American Society of Composers,

Authors and Publishers)commissioned me to create and perform a

a 35:00 minute suite of some of my past film/theater scores and sonic

environments to be performed to the projected

images on a large screen behind us.

I played the piano, guitar, sitar, baglama, and electronics along with

a very talented cast of creative musicians.

I combined the sound of the acoustic instruments with some

pre-recorded ambiences and sound effects from the films' soundtracks

with the film visuals streaming behind us.

We played the musical scores as one long inter-connected suite in 10 movements.

The 150 people in attendence created an

exciting standing room only event that was a huge success

and was described alternatvely as:

"music concert, cinema, theater and multi-media installation"
